On the hands of Demir Baba

I've been searching information about Demir Baba during the last days. What is the real history behind this name and what is just a myth.

After making the video announcing the festival, I began to prepare a little summary to explain the story of the saint to the visitors. We printed a hundred copies for them.

Finally, on Friday 14th, I went to Isperih together with the other two EVS volunteers (Eyüp Kaplan and Sencer Aydemir) and some artists (Aziz Tash, Kaloyan Ivanov, Miryan Kolev, Mitko Novkov, Mitko Taralezhkov). The trip was long, but it was worth it. On Friday evening, we met the very young girls from the Veliko Tarnovo BYG team. They were the main organisers of the festival and we collaborated with them.

Our first duty was preparing the Teke area to be suitable for the events such music, talks and dervish dances. We put some rugs and cushions and we installed an audio system. I gave papers with information about Demir Baba to all visitors. I took a few photos and I recorded some videos as well to make sure everything would be remembered. The events continued in the installations of the "Candle house" where more guests spoke. It finished with a big dinner. The short festival mixed spirituality, mysticism, music and traditions has been a success that attracted people from different areas of Bulgaria and even Romania. It mixed spirituality, mysticism, music and traditions. It's been a success.
